Friday's Event Links: The Hidden Logic of Common Knowledge with Steven Pinker

This Friday, we look forward to seeing you for our conversation with psychologist and psycholinguist Steven Pinker. We’ll discuss the hidden logic of common knowledge—essentially, how I know that you know that I know . . . and so on. It's fundamental to cooperation and coordination, but can also fuel deception.

Common knowledge is the topic of Steven Pinker’s newest book, When Everyone Knows That Everyone Knows..., which “invites us to understand the ways we try to get into each other’s heads and the harmonies, hypocrisies, and outrages that result.”

It comes out a few days after our conversation, so we’ll get a chance to learn about it before it hits the shelves.

Important: There are two parts to the event: a group discussion on the theme of common knowledge in 1984 followed by the conversation with Steven Pinker. You can join for both parts or just the conversation with Steven Pinker. Please note the specific start times and links below.

(At the end of the group discussion, we'll transition to Streamyard for the conversation with Steven Pinker.)
